Biography
One of the outstanding painters of the Alföld-school of painting. He has was teaching over 30 years at the Academy of Fine Arts. His stile can be characterized by the continuation of traditions. On his realistic paintings are often characters and activities of the countryside, but also historical scenes. His paintings are expressive through the dramatic contrast of light and dark. His motives can often be found in the Alföld- region, cities, villages, nature and people. Some works deal with literary topics. His works have their rootes in the Romanticism of the 19th century, but are combined with modern elements.
