Biography
Móric Gábor was born in Kisújszállás (city in the Northern „Alföld” region). At the Academy of Fine Arts Bertalan Székely, Paul Színyei-Merse and Ede Ballo were his masters, in Paris he taught from Corman Professor at the Ecole des Beaux Art. He was a member of the Cennin Society, the Guild Members, the Hungarian Society of Portrait Painters, and the Munkácsy Guild as well. After he had stayed in Paris he worked as a portrait painter in the USA and the Netherlands. He was in study trip in France, Austria, England, in the Netherlands, Italy, in Germany and in the USA. Between 1945 and 1948 he was a teacher at the Hungarian College of Applied Arts.
He painted classic educated, low-key colors, realistic portraits - including Hungarian and foreign public persons -, flower still-lifes, landscapes, interiors, religious-themed pictures, and he made also glass paintings. At the last years of his life he created coins.
