Biography
Tamás Galambos was born in 1939 in Budapest. Between 1959 and 1963 he attended at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts as a pupil of Gyula Hincz and Jenő Barcsay, but Aurel Bernath also monitored and supported his career.
His first exhibition was organized in the Academy of Fine Arts in 1960, where he appeared with him specific, unparalleled style and individual mode of expression. He not linked to the 6o's and 70's fashion trends. Instead he created him own, unmistakable expression language, which was called post-naive, and his early works are often classified to the Eastern Europe Pop Art style. The main themes of his works: the micro and macro world of the nature, the ancient and Christian mythology’s events, and the human nature, social and policy sarcastic portrayal.
