Biography

Gábor Szenteleki was born in 1978 in Körmend. In 2005, he graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts as a painter. In 2011, he received the Award of Csongrád County Government, and in 2010 he received special prizes from Galleria dell'Ombra and Galleria Perelá. In the same year he was also given the Koller award.

Gábor Szenteleki is enamoured with the art of painting. In his art he is led by the process of reinterpretation of traditional art forms that does not distort the original meaning, but rather draws attention to its actuality and relevance.

His attention is focused on the smallest details. His elegant style appears to be entirely relevant to his paintings' content, while avoiding the pitfalls of formal rigidity.

Szenteleki's paintings are loaded with emotion and tension. He uses his characters' facial expressions and motions to point out the influence human emotions have on the depth of artistic expression.
